    The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in cooperation with UNEP National Committee for the Republic of Korea hosts the UNEP TICYC in Daejeon, Korea from 17 to 23 August 2009.

    koreaWith over 200 young environmentalists (15 to 24 years) and 800 children (under 15) from around the world. The TICYC seek to advance a collective action of young people to the environment and the success of the Copenhagen conference which will decide the post-Kyoto.

    Unitearth will be represented by Diego Le Gallou and Céline Moses. Together we seek to advance the debate and find ways of action that allows for better synergy between UNEP, young environmentalists and international civil society for strong commitment to the Copenhagen conference.

    Theme of the conference “CLIMATE CHANGE: OUR CHALLENGE”.

    - For candidates to be considered their birthdates must fall strictly between 26 August 1985 and 21 August 1994 .
    - Candidates must be nominated by their organizations and must be active members.

    Only nominations from organizations working on or interested in environmental and sustainable development issues will be considered.

    THEME “CLIMATE CHANGE: OUR CHALLENGE”

    The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the UNEP National Committee for the Republic of Korea will be organizing its Tunza International Children’s Conference on the Environment in, from 17 to 21 August 2009.
    It will bring together 800 children & chaperones, to learn about the environment through plenary sessions, hands-on workshops and field trips with a forum to share experiences and collectively voice their concerns for the environment.

    The themes of the Conference include, Climate change and its effect on bio-diversity, Climate change and young people, Water, Sustainable lifestyle.
